ABOUT US
For the past ten years, I have owned and operated Shilpi’s World Academy of Art. During this time, the practice has grown from a small home business to a full time educational academy. The program curriculum is personally structured and organized by myself, and regularly updated to ensure that it meets the needs and interests of its students. My platform prioritizes instruction in shading, drawing, and handling of different mediums of coloring and painting. I believe in the basic idea that without drawing, there is no painting. Accordingly, I work to ensure that students build confidence through grasping the basics of drawing and rendering. Each class is kept to a very small number of students to maximize the personalized attention each student receives. I personally went through a rigorous BFA and MFA program. I work hard to ensure that my knowledge and practice passes from myself to my students.
MISSION STATEMENT
The smallest scribble from the hand of a child can grow into the largest inspiration; inspiration that can lead to a life of pursuing the arts. From infancy, children are drawn to expression — the challenge is finding the right avenue of expression for each child. For many, this avenue is best found in the visual arts, specifically drawing and painting.
From the smallest scribble to the most complex abstract painting, humans have long expressed themselves through art. This is as true as it was for the early humans, with the Lascaux cave paintings, all the way to the most avant grade artist working from a bustling studio today. The past and the future are both revealed and illustrated via art. I will assist your child in participating in this rich tradition.
